Joan Miró Library

The Joan Miró library is connected to 100% conceptual art. Imagine feeling like you are inside a boat in the middle of the city, because here you can make it a reality with the feeling that you are sailing through the seas of knowledge.

La Fraternitat Library – Barceloneta

Anchored in the heart of the Barceloneta district, there is also an architectural jewel in the city with a lot of history. Located in a building with a surprising modernist style and with more than 100 years of history.

In its beginnings it was a working-class cooperative and later it became a library for the people of the neighborhood. It has collections on catering and hospitality, as well as classical literature in many languages.

 

Sant Pau-Santa Creu Library

It is located in the heart of the Raval and it´s over 75 years old. It is characterized by being a library with personality and a lot of history. During the dictatorship of Francoism, authentic catalan books were hidden here so local people could read them without the authorities knowing.

You can also find many publications on the Arab world and Indian subcontinent, among other foreign cultures, which demonstrates the variety of cultures that coexists in this neighborhood.

 

Francesca Bonnemaison Library

It is an old library, the first created in Europe exclusively for women. A unique place of its kind that began as a space for cultural access to all the women of the city.

Later, it was moved to another place and was named after its founder, Francesca Bonnemasion. This library is certainly a reference for feminism and for book lovers.

Sofia Barat Library
